Salary: £8.93 per hour (aged 18 to 20 yrs) / £10.03 per hour (aged 21 and over) 

Hours of Work: Flexible, across a seven-day week

Housekeeper 

Are you, or would you, like to be a Housekeeper? Do you take pride in things looking at their best, are sparkling and super clean? If yes, being part of our small, friendly, energetic and efficient housekeeping team, within the unique setting at Buckfast Abbey is waiting for you. We have the opportunity for you in a permanent role, with flexibility on the hours you can offer.  

Our main guest accommodation, Northgate House, is a 30-bedroom hotel, which adds to our already diverse accommodation options. Housekeepers play a significant role to ensure that our guest bedrooms and communal areas are cleaned and presented to a very high standard for our guests and day visitors. 

Working as part of a team, you’ll help to ensure our public areas and individual bedrooms/ bathrooms are sparkling and clean, so that our guests can enjoy their stay in complete comfort. You'll play a huge part is making sure we maintain the excellent levels of comfort and service we are proud to have achieved. 

Housekeepers will promote a positive image of the property to guests and must be customer focussed, honest and friendly. They should be able and willing to address guest requests and take appropriate actions to respond to problems. 

Ideally, although not essential, you’ll have experience in a cleaning or housekeeping role. If you don’t already have a good understanding of COSHH and best practice from a health and safety point of view, we will provide this training for you.

Communication: To attend staff and team meetings; this includes 1-2-1 meetings with line management. To keep appropriate, clear, accurate and timely records as required of the role and in line with our policies and legislation. 

Team working: To liaise with, co-operate with and support all employees in a positive way that fosters good working relationships and collaboratively meets our objectives.

Flexibility: Employees may be asked to undertake other duties, as appropriate, which are considered reasonable and equal to the post as described above.
