On Saturday 24th June, the Abbey hosts its first evening organ recital of the year, given by Fréderic Blanc. Winner of several international competitions, the celebrated French organist makes his debut appearance at Buckfast Abbey. His concert will conclude with an improvisation on themes submitted by the audience. On Saturday 1st July we are delighted to welcome the Schola Cantorum of The Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School, London, who will visit and sing for the first time at the Abbey.
This renowned boys’ choir provides soloists and chorus singers for London’s opera houses, and can be heard on many film soundtracks. The choir presents a programme including the sublime Fauré Requiem, in addition to music by Bach, Taverner, Monteverdi and the choir’s own patron, Sir James MacMillan. A two-course, pre-concert meal is available in the Conference Centre dining room at 17:45 for £23.95. Click to book https://www.buckfast.org.uk/whats-on
