Welcome with a wag

We’re welcoming visitors with well-behaved dogs to visit our extensive grounds and gardens this Summer and Autumn. All we ask is that you keep your faithful friend on a short lead, tidy up after them and don’t leave them unaccompanied.

We know many people have added a canine companion to their family during lockdown. It’s not always easy to leave them home alone, especially if you are on holiday, so we’ve opened our grounds to guests with well-behaved pets.

There are a few rules, which include keeping pets on a lead, out of buildings (with the exception of registered assistance dogs), and picking up any indiscretions that might occur on your visit. Apart from that, and taking care not to allow your dogs to jump up on other visitors, you are welcome to bring four-legged friends along with you.

Given that we have over 60 acres of land, shady spots, open gardens and lawns perfect for picnics, we think you’ll find that Buckfast Abbey is the perfect place to explore with your pets.
