We are seeking an experienced and motivated Hospitality Team Leader to join our Accommodation team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong hospitality experience who enjoys leading people, delivering outstanding customer service and ensuring high operational standards.
About the Role
Based primarily in Northgate House Hotel and San Benedetto’s Restaurant, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of our accommodation and restaurant operations. Working predominantly evening shifts, you will lead teams, support management and help create memorable experiences for our guests.
You will also regularly provide support across our wider hospitality venues, including our Grange restaurant, Abbot’s Way café and conference centre.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead, motivate and support team members during shifts
• Deliver excellent customer service and maintain high hospitality standards
• Oversee front-of-house operations in the absence of management
• Support restaurant operations and service delivery
• Work closely with chefs, team leaders and managers to ensure smooth daily operations
• Handle guest feedback professionally and effectively
• Identify opportunities to maximise revenue and enhance guest experiences
• Ensure compliance with health and safety, food hygiene and licensing requirements
• Promote a positive, safe and customer-focused working environment
• Support the implementation of company policies and procedures
Essential Requirements:
• Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader role within a busy hospitality environment
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Experience leading and motivating teams
• A confident, positive and professional approach
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
• The ability to work independently and make sound decisions
• Flexibility to work across different hospitality venues and departments
• A strong awareness of health and safety, security and safeguarding responsibilities
• Reliability, attention to detail and a strong work ethic
• An empathy with the Catholic ethos of Buckfast Abbey and commitment to our values of Respect, Integrity and Excellence
