Buckfast Abbey is home to a Benedictine Community of monks; it employs 120 staff who are mainly involved in hospitality and retail, helping visitors in our restaurant, conference centre, education department and guest accommodation.
We have need, on occasion, for employees to assist with the working of all manner of activities whether, it is maintaining the buildings, serving guests in our various accommodations and shops, cooking meals or providing conference facilities.
The Abbey is a beautiful setting in which to work and to support the mission of the community.

Latest News - Abbey recruits apprentices to invest in next generation

Apprentice Lewis Ware makes the local press this week showcasing Buckfast Abbey's response to the rising levels of unemployment. Lewis has started a career as a trainee plumber. We are also in the  process of recruiting a painter and decorator, and looking to create many more apprentices.

Financial Accountant

Location: Buckfast Abbey, Devon
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum
Hours of work: 40 hours per week
Reporting to: Head of Finance and Administration

This role will suit a qualified accountant looking to work in a broad, busy and highly responsible position. The role will work closely with and report into the Head of Finance and Administration. We are currently implementing new financial accounting and payroll systems and the applicant will need to be competent in Sage to assist with the setup, transition of historical data and ongoing training of other staff members.
