What began as night becomes brilliance, as the Church is flooded with the light of Christ, risen from the tomb. Death is undone. The silence is shattered.This is the night, that with a pillar of fire, banished the darkness of sin.

Easter Sunday 2025

The tomb is empty, and the stone is rolled away.Christ is risen, not in symbol, not in story, but in truth. Death has no hold, the grave no victory. From the stillness of the sepulchre bursts eternal life, and the Church, radiant with joy, lifts her voice in praise.Alleluia, alleluia. Christ is truly risen

Christ lived that He might die for the world. Today the Author of Life is stretched upon the wood. The veil is torn, the earth trembles, and silence falls. The Cross is not the end - it is the door flung open. Let all flesh keep silence, for God in the person of Christ has died.

This week, we were blessed to welcome clergy from the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of the Holy Family of London for their retreat at Buckfast Abbey. As an Eastern rite Church in full communion with Rome, their presence was a beautiful reminder of the rich diversity within the Catholic Church. Spanning all Great Britain, their ministry serves the Ukrainian Greek Catholic faithful, guided by their Eparch, the Rt Rev Kenneth Nowakowski.It has been a joy to share in prayer and fellowship, may the Lord continue to bless their service and strengthen their mission.
