As an Events Assistant Apprentice, you’ll gain hands-on experience whilst studying towards a nationally recognised Level 3 Events Assistant qualification. You’ll be part of the team that helps deliver conferences, meetings, training events, special occasions and site-wide events for thousands of delegates and visitors every year.

What you’ll be doing

As part of our friendly Food & Beverage team, you’ll help create memorable experiences for our guests by:

Answering telephone and email enquiries
Assisting with event bookings and administration
Keeping our booking systems accurate and up to date
Welcoming delegates and visitors
Supporting clients before, during and after events
Helping set up meeting rooms and event spaces
Assisting with audio-visual and IT equipment
Liaising with catering teams regarding refreshments and dietary requirements
Updating digital display screens and event information
Supporting food and beverage service during breaks and lunches
Ensuring conference suites are tidy, organised and ready for guests
Always providing excellent customer service

No two days are ever the same. One day you might be helping to prepare for a large conference, and the next you’ll be welcoming delegates and supporting a wide range of exciting events.

Who we are looking for 🔎

You don’t need previous events experience. We’re looking for someone who:

  • Qualifications required: English and Maths GCSE minimum of Grade 4 and above are preferable. (These qualifications can be achieved during the course, so this isn’t essential)
  • Has a positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Enjoys working with people
  • Has good communication skills
  • Is organised and reliable
  • Can stay calm when things get busy
  • Likes being part of a team
  • Is enthusiastic, proactive and ready to get stuck in
  • Flexibility: A minimum of 32 hours per week, over 5 days, including some weekends and evenings.
